Understanding Our Collections & Production Time
At Black Diamonds – New York, we offer three categories of pieces to accommodate different timelines and customization needs:
Typical Production Time
Ready-to-Ship: 1–2 business days
Curated Collection: 2–20 business days
Custom Designs: 3–20 business days
Shipping time begins after production is completed. Please review the details below to understand production and shipping timeframes.
1. Ready-to-Ship Items (Our Fastest Option)
Our Ready-to-Ship Collection includes completed designs prepared for immediate shipment. These pieces do not require customization and typically ship the next business day when ordered before 12:00 PM EST (excluding weekends and U.S. holidays). Only items purchased directly from our Ready-to-Ship category qualify for expedited processing. If your selected size or variation is unavailable, production may follow our standard 3–20 business day timeframe.
Processing Time: Orders placed before 12:00 PM EST typically ship the same business day or within 48 hours (excluding weekends and U.S. holidays). Some pieces may require additional preparation.
Our Guarantee: Pieces without personalization are backed by our 30-day guarantee.
2. Handcrafted & Custom Made-to-Order Pieces
These pieces include our exclusive original designs, created by our founder and design team and available only through Black Diamonds – New York and select authorized partners. This category also includes designs that require personalization or are crafted entirely from scratch to your specifications.
Production Time: Approximately 3–20 business days
Because these items are made to order, production time varies depending on the design’s complexity. The process may involve CAD design, wax modeling, mold creation, stone setting, polishing, and gemstone preparation.

- Gamer Rings
- Solid Gold pieces
- Platinum pieces
- Natural & Lab-grown Diamond jewelry
- VIP Custom pieces (engraving, names, personalization, and fully custom designs)
Ready-to-Ship Natural Diamond Rings:
We maintain limited stock in size 6 only. All other sizes and variations are crafted from scratch.
Important Note:
By purchasing handcrafted or made-to-order pieces, you acknowledge and agree to the production time required to create your one-of-a-kind jewelry.
3. Curated Collection (Most of our Jewelry)
These are established designs produced to our specifications. This category includes the majority of the jewelry on our website — our regular or classic designs that are not listed in the Ready-To-Ship collection. While the base design already exists, each piece is prepared, customized, and finished after your order is placed. Some pieces are crafted directly by our jewelers, while select designs are produced in collaboration with trusted production partners and specialized workshops that meet our material and craftsmanship standards.

Processing Time: 2-20 business days
Depending on inventory and design requirements, orders may ship as fast as 48 hours, but most require up to 20 business days for preparation and finishing.
Personalization Services
We offer both custom-made pieces, often featuring our original, trademarked designs, and popular, standard pre-made pieces. Every order includes personalization, professional finishing, and inspection before shipment.
Sizing & Stone Type Changes
Our in-stock rings are typically prepared in size 6 with natural diamonds in specific carat weights. If you require a different ring size or stone type, please allow 3–20 business days for resizing or remaking, depending on the requested modification. This timeframe may vary based on customization complexity and gemstone preparation.
Certification: All natural diamonds, lab-grown diamonds, and certified moissanite stones above 0.40 carats include a certificate of authenticity.
Partial Fulfillment for Regular and Pre-Order Pieces
If your order contains multiple items, each piece may ship as soon as it is completed rather than waiting for the entire order. You will receive a tracking number for each shipment. If you prefer all items shipped together, please contact us before shipment.
Total Delivery Time
Your full delivery window includes:
• Production time (creating your jewelry)
• Shipping time (carrier delivery)

Our system automatically selects the fastest carrier available based on your location, rather than a specific carrier being pre-selected.
Shipping Options
Free Shipping- Insured up to $100. Signature confirmation is not included.
Expedited + Insurance (Recommended)- Faster delivery with full-value insurance coverage. Signature confirmation is not included.
Prioritize + Insurance (Without Signature)- Priority processing and delivery with full-value insurance, without a required signature upon delivery.
Expedited with Signature + Insurance- Faster delivery with full-value insurance and signature confirmation required upon delivery.
*Signature confirmation is available when selected at checkout. If the option does not appear during checkout, our team can assist in adding it to your shipment upon request. Please note that an additional fee may apply depending on the carrier’s signature service rates.
Shipping Insurance
This coverage protects your shipment from the moment it leaves our facility until it is successfully delivered and marked as delivered by the shipping carrier.
Important: Shipping insurance covers loss or damage while the package is in transit only. It does not cover theft, damage, or loss of the package or its contents after the shipment has been marked “delivered” by the carrier.
Delivery Responsibility
Once a package is marked delivered by the carrier, responsibility transfers to the recipient. For higher-value orders, we strongly recommend selecting signature confirmation at checkout. Black Diamonds — New York is not responsible for packages that are lost or stolen after confirmed delivery by the carrier.
Where We Ship From
We design most of our original pieces in our studio in New Jersey/New York, USA, to ensure accuracy and the highest quality standards. Shipping locations may vary depending on inventory availability, production scheduling, and delivery timelines.
- USA Orders: Most orders are processed and shipped from the United States. In certain situations, such as rush orders or inventory availability, some pieces may be fulfilled through our global fulfillment locations.
- International & Select Orders: Orders may ship from our U.S. location or one of our global fulfillment centers, depending on inventory availability and delivery timelines. Some of our fulfillment partners are located in Japan, Italy, or Hong Kong. This helps ensure efficient delivery and smoother international processing when applicable.
- Customer Preference: If you have a preference regarding where your order ships from based on your location, please contact our team, and we will do our best to accommodate your request when possible.
Estimate Shipping Times
These are estimated shipping times and are not guaranteed due to possible unforeseen delays (e.g., bad weather, holidays, customs clearance, shipping restrictions, etc.). These factors are outside of our control, but we will do our best to assist you in tracking your order and resolving any issues that may arise.
- USA: 2-10 business days (weekends and holidays not included) via USPS
- Canada: 5-10 business days (weekends and holidays not included) via USPS International Mail, DHL, FedEx, UPS, or a local carrier.
- Other Countries: 7-15 business days (weekends and holidays not included) via USPS International Mail, DHL, FedEx, UPS, or a local carrier.
- Express Shipping: 2-5 business days
Holiday Season & Carrier Delays
Orders placed during peak holiday periods may experience longer production or transit times due to increased carrier volume. While we always work to ship orders as quickly as possible, delivery delays caused by shipping carriers such as USPS, UPS, FedEx, or DHL are outside of our control.
We appreciate your patience and understanding during these busy periods.
Tracking Your Order
Tracking information will be emailed to you once your order has shipped. You may track your package directly through the carrier listed in your tracking details. Please note that tracking updates may take 2–12 days to appear, depending on carrier processing times and shipping volume.
Carrier Transfers & Tracking Gaps
Some shipments may be transferred between carriers (for example USPS, UPS, FedEx, or DHL) for final delivery. During these handoffs, tracking updates may temporarily show statuses such as “Awaiting Item” until the receiving carrier scans the package into their system. These tracking gaps can last up to five (5) days or longer and are a normal part of the shipping process.
Shipping Delays
Shipping carriers may experience delays due to:
- severe weather
- holidays
- customs processing
- high shipping volume
- operational disruptions
These factors are outside of our control, but our team is always happy to assist if you need help reviewing your tracking information.
International Shipping & Customs
We ship internationally where available. Customs duties, import taxes, and other fees are determined by the destination country and may vary depending on local regulations. While many small-value shipments may not incur additional fees, this cannot be guaranteed. Any customs duties, taxes, or import charges are the responsibility of the buyer. We recommend reviewing your country's import policies before placing an order.
Global Production & Fulfillment
To maintain efficient production timelines and consistent quality, Black Diamonds — New York works with a network of trusted production studios, craftsmen, and fulfillment partners located in multiple regions around the world. Depending on the design, materials, and current production capacity, your jewelry may be prepared or shipped from one of our U.S. or international fulfillment locations. All pieces are produced according to Black Diamonds — New York design specifications and quality standards.
Lost Packages
If tracking shows delivered but the package is missing, contact the shipping carrier immediately. If the carrier confirms the package is lost, file a claim and provide us with the claim reference number. Claims require official carrier documentation and may require a police report.
Fraud Prevention & Order Verification
To protect our customers, certain orders may require additional verification or confirmation before shipment. Orders flagged by our payment processors for potential fraud may be delayed, canceled, or refunded for security purposes.
