Exclusive Interview with Eric & Pucci owners of Black Diamonds- New York

Today we’d like to introduce you to Eric & Pucci owners of Black Diamonds- New York.

It’s an honor to speak with you today. Why don’t you give us some details about you and your story. How did you get to where you are today?

Pucci: Our business started in Okinawa, Japan in 2013 serving the military community through our most fun tipsy paint parties. We picked up the groove when we moved to New York in 2015 then switched our artsy gear when COVID-19 hit the world. With all the sad news associated with the pandemic, music and art simply brought positivity around us. One day I just started painting on large canvases then started designing jewelry while Eric is playing his favorite guitar, 1969 Gibson Les Paul Deluxe. His music inspired my creativity and before I know it, I have 35 cool jewelry designs in front of me. Right that moment, we decided to launch our jewelry line through Black Diamonds-New York by Evani Naomi. Showcasing top-quality natural diamond alternatives, incorporating our creativity with our super affordable custom-made engagement rings, unique diamond jewelry pieces, and modern-chic gothic skull wedding rings. We couldn’t be any happier to combine arts and diamonds. We have a very clear understanding of how weddings can be awfully expensive, but wedding rings don’t have to be. We exist because of this. We are here to offer the most affordable unique diamond rings to everyone.

I’m sure your success has not come easily. What challenges have you had to overcome along the way?

Eric: Launching a jewelry business during a pandemic is tough. We had great success when we started personalizing masks and sold them on Etsy and eBay but then our kids wanted to set up a great cause where they can keep donating masks for those who cannot afford one. That's when we started a “BUY ONE, GIVE ONE” selling setup. It was great for a while, however, we simply couldn’t keep up with the demand and basically, we were losing funds to support the cause. We didn’t want to stop helping either so with that in mind, launching a jewelry line then include free masks per order solved the problem. It is challenging financially but we are very determined that our craft will stand out as everything is handcrafted to perfection and handmade with a mission to help others.

Pucci: Luckily, since launching, we currently have over 67,000+ happy returning customers both locally and internationally that support our business. It's growing everyday. Every order we receive inspires us every day.

Let’s talk about the work you do. What do you specialize in and why should someone work with you over the competition?

Pucci: Black Diamonds- New York is a small family-owned business with a mission to help others. We do not only sell unique wedding jewelry and luxury gift sets to gain profits but every purchase made through our website, we give back. We are committed to producing unique jewelry pieces, modern-chic gothic skull wedding rings, handmade bohemian jewelry and also associate our roots through our Proud Pinoy collection. We take pride in all our products and everything is handcrafted to perfection. All our products are backed by 100% customer satisfaction. We don’t ever want any of our customers unhappy so we have many solutions to any type of issues that will come up (if any). We offer a free lifetime professional diamond service which allows any of our customers to get their jewelry professionally polished or even renewed for life.

Eric: We also offer free shipping worldwide, one year warranty, free returns, and exchanges as well as free engraving. Black Diamonds- New York’s diamond alternatives will pass the diamond test. Equally beautiful and shining at about 1% of the cost of a diamond. All our lab-grown diamonds look just the same as real diamonds but they cost much less. We made sure that we have more fire in our stones compared to other stones which set us apart from other jewelry companies.

What’s your best piece of advice for readers who desire to find success in their life?

Pucci: Identify what you want in life. At least have 1 or 2 interests that you will work on every day, keep pushing until you are happy with the results. Never give up because life is full of challenges and craziness.

Eric: If you fail, move forward, don’t get stuck. Have a better perspective on things, that will help you find the bright side in everything.

Pucci: When you master this, you will see success in everything you do, even the smallest thing will be fulfilling and will serve a great purpose to yourself, your audiences, and the crowd. Use your skills and creativity to reach people and make a difference. Get really really good at it.

Speaking of success, what does the word mean to you?

Pucci: The simple definition of success is when ‘you’ve made it’. We, at Black Diamonds- New York, success is when we know we made someone’s day happy through our crafts and great causes. Many of our customers reach out to us almost every day with high praises and compliments with either the great customer service they received, the unique jewelry pieces that brought tears on their special day, the happiness their loved ones expressed when they received their gifts, the causes we support, or the cute freebies that came in their mails.

Eric: These are priceless to us. Bringing smile and joy to our audiences and shoppers is a great indication of our success.

Pucci: When quality meets affordability, that’s when we know we’ve done our job.

What’s next for you?

Eric: Our mission is to inspire everyone including business owners to use their business as a medium to bring positivity and reach out to those who are in need. This pandemic has been very tough and traumatizing to many. We want to keep pushing to grow our business so we can help provide jobs for those who are stuck in their homes or for those who have lost their jobs. We also just opened our affiliate program where anyone can make extra cash through the products we sell. We want to provide endless opportunities to everyone as we provide high-quality and affordable wedding jewelry.

Pucci: We are all about giving back as the Black Diamonds- New York community will not be where we are right now if it wasn’t for all our customers.
